The main purpose of this design is to convert a 220V three-phase voltage source to a maximum 750V load using 50kW of power. Therefore the literature reviewed will help me design this circuit and simulate it using Matlab software.
Paper [1] presents the different design considerations that need to be considered for design of a high-power density Zero-Voltage switched PWM MOSFET-based converter. Aspects include; the required dead time between switching of the different transistors during operation, the Zero-Voltage switching range of operation for a specified load current which has to be above a certain critical value for Zero-Voltage switching to occur and how to choose the switching frequency, leakage inductance and duty cycle.
The duty cycle has to be chosen such that for a given power, input-output voltage ratio, and maximum duty cycle, the transformer turns ratio, switching frequency and leakage inductance have to be chosen to satisfy;

The current flowing through the leakage inductance Llk has to be greater than the critical current, Icrit in the primary circuit for Zero-Voltage switching to occur. This is calculated using the equation below
